2011 NEW LEXUS LX570

Japanese carmaker Lexus claims that the new LX570 is better at off-roading than its predecessor and with engineering adapted from the Toyota Land Cruiser - a legendary 4x4 model - the LX570 is claimed to be the world's most capable and luxurious off-road vehicle.

The model is presently not imported by Lexus Malaysia but for those who must have one, Naza World is bringing in some units with prices starting from RM758,000 or US$ 216,600 (depending on whether the unit is reconditioned or brand new). The company also provides warranty and after-sales support to customers for the models it sells.

As the number indicates, this is a Lexus with a very big engine - 5.7 litres. It's the largest engine in the Lexus range and 5.7-litre V8 engine produces 270 kW/367 bhp and 530 Nm of torque. The V8, which runs on petrol and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds, is mated to a new 6-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission engineered for heavy-duty driving.

Honda Insight Malaysia 2011

Honda Malaysia has brought in the new Honda Insight to replace Honda Civic Hybrid and the price will be at RM98,000 for the new petrol electric hybrid by Honda. It was launched yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) at PWTC. The Honda Insight wil be powered by an improved 1.3 liter i-VTEC engine which is similar to the Honda Civic Hybrid that produces 98hp at 5800 rpm. The Insight will be using the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

In keeping with the car's green theme, appropriate driver aids are integrated into the vehicle's control systems to encourage gentler driving behaviours. The Ecological Drive Assist System (Eco Assist) combines functions such as a driver-activated ECON mode and real-time fuel economy display to help the drive optimize fuel consumption in a journey.

Safety-wise, the Insight has a 6-star rating by JNCAP for driver safety, and 5-star for passenger safety. Standard safety gear includes dual airbags, ABS, EBD, active head rests, and pedestrian friendly front crumple zones. The chassis design features Honda's Advanced Compatibiliy Engineering (ACE) structure, which reduces injury potential for occupants of both the Insight and also the colliding vehicle.

Hamman BMW X6 bodykit

Hamann has released the decidedly abrasive Tycoon EVO M, its take on the 2011 BMW X6. The vehicle develops 670 hp at 6,000 rpm and 950 Nm at 1,500-5,650 rpm, making for an increase of 115 hp and 100 Nm over the stock M vehicle. Performance numbers include a 0-100 kph time of 4.2 seconds and a 300 kph top speed, the last aided by the removal of the speed limiter.

Outside, the big Bimmer has been widened by 60 millimeters, taking it from huge to gargantuan. Its new-found size is set off by a carbon-accented matte-black paint scheme sitting atop 23-inch wheels at all four corners, also in matte black. The taillights, roof rack, hood, rear spoiler, antenna and exhaust surround all get the carbon fiber treatment.
for the interior features, most of their applications made of nanai salmon leather, which as its name suggests, has the characteristic structure of salmon skin, things get truly insane. Hamann says its as durable and luxurious as traditional interior leather, and carries the look and structure of salmon skin. In reality, it looks very similar to snake skin. Setting off the interesting trim choice is the usual litany of Alacantara-trimmed seats and quilted leather upholstery

All New Optima 2011

Kia has redesigned their mid-size Optima for 2011. The new Optima is a radical departure from the old Optima. Under the handsome styling, the Optima is similar to the Hyundai Sonata, also new for 2011, and it shares the Sonata's powertrain choices: 2.4-liter direct-injected four, 2.0 liter turbocharged four, and a gas-electric hybrid driveline.

“The 2011 Optima incorporates some of Kia’s most advanced safety technologies with head-turning style, performance and comfort to provide consumers with high value and peace-of-mind,” said Byung Mo Ahn, group president and CEO of Kia Motors America (KMA) and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG).

“As the first Korean-built vehicle to be awarded a five-star crash safety rating under NHTSA’s new, stricter guidelines, Optima creates a new benchmark in the segment and underscores Kia’s commitment to offering consumers the highest levels of quality and safety in all of our vehicles.”

In all, 24 passenger cars, 20 sport utility vehicles, two vans, and nine 2011 model year pickups were rated under the new system that not only includes tougher crash tests, but, for the first time, provides consumers with a single overall safety score per vehicle.

The new testing program also provides consumers with information about new advanced crash avoidance technologies, such as lane departure and forward collision warning systems.

The Optima is sold in the United States in three trims namely LX, EX and SX.

The 2011 Optima comes equipped with a high level of standard safety features, including: six airbags (dual advanced front and front-seat mounted side as well as full-length side curtain), front active headrests, side-impact door beams, height-adjustable front seatbelts with pre-tensioners, three-point seatbelts for all seating positions, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

Four-wheel antilock brakes, ESC, a Traction Control System, a Brake Assist System and Hill Assist Control also are standard.
